Breathing with Brothers
"Whenever your mind becomes scattered, use your breath as the means to take hold of your mind again"

Breathwork
Breathing with Brothers is a space for men to reconnect with themselves and each other through breathwork. The sessions use structured breathing to calm the nervous system, release tension, and create openings for emotional clarity. Breathwork in this context means using a continuous, intentional breathing pattern to shift awareness, increase energy flow, and access parts of the self that are often hidden or held back.
Breathwork bypasses ordinary thinking. It can loosen patterns in the body, soften protective armour, and make room for insight. Many men experience a mix of physical sensations, emotional release, and a clearer sense of presence. The setting is supportive, grounded, and focused on meeting whatever emerges without judgment.
There are different styles of breathwork, and the sessions draw mainly from Conscious Connected Breathwork and Holotropic Breathwork.
Conscious Connected Breathwork focuses on embodiment, emotional awareness, and the integration of stored charge in the body. The facilitator stays actively engaged with the process, guiding breath rhythm, offering grounding cues, and helping to regulate intensity so the work remains contained and accessible.
Holotropic Breathwork, by contrast, aims to open non-ordinary states of consciousness. It relies heavily on a fixed musical arc and minimal facilitation, allowing the psyche to unfold without verbal guidance. The focus is more on symbolic or transpersonal material, and less on real-time body awareness or emotional coaching.
What does a session look like
A Breathing with Brothers session lasts 2 hours and takes place in an intimate group of 2 to 6 men. The small group size allows for safety, presence, and real connection. Each session starts with a check-in so everyone can arrive, name what is happening inside them, and settle into the space.
The core of the evening is a 45-minute conscious connected breathwork journey. The breathing is continuous and intentional, supporting a shift in awareness and softening patterns held in the body. Sensations, emotions, and insights often surface as the breath clears tension and opens energy that is usually pushed down in daily life.
After the breathwork, there is a sharing circle. Each man is invited to speak from experience, without pressure or advice-giving. The focus is on being witnessed, supported, and revealed rather than being fixed. Listening to others often brings clarity to one’s own process.
The session closes with a short grounding and a moment to integrate before leaving the space. This creates a clear ending and supports a return to everyday life with greater presence and connection.
